There seems to be a real lack of any good quality TV shows at the moment, so I’ve been revisiting some of my old favorites (well, not that old, but not being made anymore). Here are a list of three of my personal best, and I’ll do another post with a few more at a later date.
Lost – Yes, it went on for too long and was confusing, but I still think it was one of the best TV shows of all time purely for how ambitious it was. No other TV show has created such an amazing world and kept me wanting more for so long. I hope they don’t try to do a sequel with different characters though – although I think it’s probably inevitable sadly.
Scrubs – The final series were awful (anything about series 5 went downhill rapidly) but the first few seasons were great comedy. It’s not going to go down as an innovative TV show, but there aren’t many shows that can make me actually laugh and this is one of them. Just a shame they had to drag it out for so long (and keep bringing it back) until it eventually stuttered to a halt.
Modern Family – this one is still being made so it probably doesn’t really count, but I thought I’d put it in anyway. It’s what you’d call a “gentle” comedy, but it has enough of an edge to make it funny. I almost didn’t give it a chance but I’m glad I did.
